The 2025 EAS Conference will be held in the Doubletree by Hilton, located at 2349 Marlton Pike West, Cherry Hill, NJ, 08002.  This conference center offers excellent accommodations at a very reasonable price – many of the rooms are newly renovated and provide scenic views of the Philadelphia Skyline.

Our conference group booking rate offers both “King Bed” and “Two Queen Bed” rooms from July 27 through August 1 (with extended stay from July 23 to August 5), each for $129 plus tax. Reservations must be made prior to June 26, 2025 to be eligible for the group rate. A Queen Room with Bathtub – Mobility /Hearing Accessible and allergy-free rooms are available. In room WIFI is free and the hotel welcomes service pets only.

Each room includes ironing amenities, a fire extinguisher, telephone, safety deposit box, kitchenware and toiletries. The rooms are smoke-free, however, there is a designated smoking area.  Laundry services are available. Parking is free and covered by a solar panel bedecked roof!  The hotel features a seasonal outdoor pool, on-site dining and a fitness center.

Check in time is 4:00 p.m. and check-out time is 11:00 a.m.  The hotel can arrange to check baggage for those arriving early when rooms are unavailable and for guests attending functions on departure day.

As per hotel policy, room reservations not cancelled 72 hours prior to arrival will result in a cancellation charge. A cancellation penalty will also apply to any change of arrival and/or departure date that would shorten the length of stay that is not made within 72 hours of arrival.

Conference Features

Workshops: Hands-on craft workshops will include: bridging arts and science from the hive including felting, candle making, encaustic artwork and cyanotypes; cooking with honey, apitherapy and bee related tools and gadgets.  The Apiary Inspectors of America will offer a workshop on identification of the Tropilaelaps spp.

Lectures: Lectures will focus on bee nutrition, foraging source identification and propagation, colony sizing, rigs and gadgets, current and coming parasites and pathogens.

Master Beekeepers: The Master Beekeepers will offer the four components of their testing – written, laboratory, oral and field exams.  Information is available on the EAS website.  https://easternapiculture.org/programs/master-beekeepers/

Exercise Program – Yoga and Zumba: There will be morning Zumba classes and late afternoon Yoga sessions to keep us on our toes and relax after a day of concentration.

Bee Olympics: The always popular Bee Olympics will be held on site with fun challenges for teams to face on Wednesday, July 30.

Auctions: Auctions will include a virtual online auction, silent auctions during the conference and a live auction on Thursday evening. 

Painted Boxes: Painted boxes will be on exhibit and available for auction throughout the conference.

Welcome Reception: A reception will be hosted on Sunday evening, July 27th.  Other meals will be offered as a buffet breakfast and boxed lunches. A buffet dinner is available with the live auction on Thursday, July 31st and a plated banquet dinner will be served on Friday, August 1st.  Sign-ups for these meals may be  found on the registration form which is now available (link on Conference page).

Volunteer: Opportunities for volunteer participation will be available. Get a head start by signing up or renewing your EAS membership, a requirement for registration and conference attendance.

Honey Show: The Honey Show provides an opportunity to display and have evaluated your finest products of extracted honey, comb honey, black jar, beeswax, gadgets, photographs, cooked goods and mead and honey beer. Learn how to present your products for display or sale during the short course and visit the Honey Show to appreciate how fine the products of our honey bees can be.
